Vegan diet

vegan_diet.jpgIf you are a vegan and you want to lose weight, then the perfect diet that you should consume should consist of a combination well balanced with fruits and vegetables and nuts or foods that will keep a feeling of satiety as well as help in providing enough energy for your activities. Diets that promote the intake of breads and pastas in huge quantities though are vegetarian in nature but will rarely promote weight loss. The diet rich in carbohydrates though provides energy but also gives rise to excess fat, by producing insulin. For weight loss diet programs a diet has to be a perfect combination of nutrients and energy without excess and in perfect portions of food. The carbohydrates with a high gycemic index should also be tried to be avoided. These foods can trigger sudden insulin surges that eventually cause the dieter to eat approximately 60 to 70% more in the next meal that he eats. Though vegetarian, these diets will not promote weight loss. Vegan diet is a confusing concept to the newly initiated. The nutrition that we get through meat and poultry, though found in these diets can be a confusing option for many, so a vegan weight loss diet has to be carefully monitored and understood. The diet should ideally be of a nature that provides a lot of vegetables, some amount of fruit and some amount of food with healthy fat such as nuts as also some oils like flaxseed. The reaction of a person to the sugars in the fruit and the healthy fats would be the determinants of what a person eats and in how many quantities. Some need more vegetables than fruits and vice versa. A vegan diet is dependant on how your body reacts to certain foods and your diet is determined by that.

The grains and complex carbohydrates are included with caution and in minimal amounts.
