Foods that curb hunger

image.jpgIf you have ever been on a diet I’m sure that you are quite familiar with the gnawing feeling of being hungry, a dieter will always have to contend with this demon that finally makes you give in and thus fail the whole effort. Don’t you wish there was something to eat with no calories? Or that there was a situation when we didn’t feel hungry itself. Hunger is when our body desires food, that food may be needed or may not be needed. If we cut into calories, this hunger grows and then the dieter starts feeling deprived.

A situation where the calories intake was restricted and still that awful feeling of deprivation and a gnawing hunger is a dream for any dieter. It will definitely surprise you that you can eat more that you are eating right now and still be on a weight loss diet. These foods are the one which curb hunger and keep you satiated, thus successfully making sure that you complete you diet programs as well as help in making you understand you food better.

The dieters dream come true these foods have been named by the American Dietetic Association spokesperson Dawn Jackson Blatner as “If you have at least one or more foods that are high in water or fiber and lean protein at all meals, you will feel full on fewer calories.”

Hunger busting foods are high fiber foods and foods with a high water content.

Volume foods like vegetables and fruits are the foods that are rich in fiber and water, and are high volume foods, they add volume to your food, thus giving it a more fuller dimension and keeping you sated for long while still keeping it low in calorific value.

Researcher Barbara Rolls, PhD, and her colleagues at Pennsylvania State University say that “We have found in numerous studies that when you allow people to eat as much as they want of foods that are high in volume yet low in density (calories), they eat less at the meal or during the day”

“Eat a salad or bowl of broth- based soup before the meal to reduce intake at the meal; or reduce calorie density by increasing water, air, or fiber and take out a little fat — but not so much that the dish loses it taste.”

So now it is possible to be on a happy stomach even on a diet, just eat wise and eat healthy.
