The Brainwashing Diet
The effectiveness of weight loss programs is of late believed to be hinged more upon the psychological than the physical. More and more psychologists have conceded that a healthy diet program that works is one that truly convinces the mindset and not just change the body. The Brainwashing Diet is one such diet program.
The focus is more on the psychological aspect of weight loss, sometimes even requiring you to state affirmations 400 to 500 times a day. It is a self hypnosis where a person controls diet habits by continuously reminding himself/herself that they need to lose weight. The theory behind that is that you are self-hypnotizing yourself with the continuous and perhaps at times excessive repetition (400-500 times daily). But these repetitions are actually necessary, as per the psychological requirements of the diet.
Psychological AspectÂ
- If you just spoke them a few times a day, the part of you that recognizes the falsehood would respond in negative and with apprehension. This is why the self-hypnosis (or one might call it heavy advertising or brainwashing or overpowering) is imperative for the process to take hold.
- Once you repeat an affirmation hundreds of times, the brain slowly acknowledges the existence of your need to lose weight- it is this shadow of doubt that will allow in new diet experiences and new diet behaviors.
- Suddenly when confronted with a food item, you make a different diet choice or realize for the first time that there is a different choice available for you.
Suitability
The Brainwashing diet is divided into two sub branches- Brainwashing Quik and Brainwashing Lite. Both work on different aspects and are almost paradoxical to each other. Brainwashing Quik is for short term weight loss where as Brainwashing Lite focuses on long term problems instead. For instance, if you have had weight issues since childhood, Brainwashing Lite is better suited to your problem.
