Raw Diet and Weight Loss

You may eat as much as you like and still not gain any weight, as long as the food that you eat is whole, and raw.  People with digestive or glandular disorders might be exceptions to this rule; but, even they will find that a raw diet greatly improves health.

Raw diet comprises uncooked, unprocessed, organic, whole foods based on plants. A person on a raw diet eats fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, beans, and dried fruits and drinks purified water, fresh fruit and vegetable juice, and the milk of young coconuts.

A raw diet is one of the alternative weight loss programs with a double effect. It not only helps you lose weight, but also detoxifies your system. A body that is rid of all toxins is also rid of health problems, such as painful migraine headaches, constipation, arthritis, skin problems, sleep disorders, and others. A raw diet improves digestion and reduces the risk of heart disease.

Raw food is believed to be full of enzymes, which help you digest your food. Enzymes are also responsible for all the chemical reactions within your cells. For example, lipase, an enzyme found in raw food, splits fat, digests it, and distributes it for energy. In the absence of lipase, fat accumulates in the belly, hips, buttocks, and thighs.

On the other hand, the process of cooking is believed to destroy enzymes and also a lot of vitamins and minerals. Therefore, cooked food takes longer to digest, and this leads to the accumulation of fat in the body.

Talk to your physician and a nature cure practitioner before you create your raw meal plan. It is important to plan your raw meals in such a way that you get all the required vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. Raw diets release a lot of toxins, and this can cause a lot of changes in your body noticeable as slight headaches, chills, irritability, and fatigue. These symptoms will disappear when the body gets used to the raw diet.

You need a lot of determination to stick to a raw diet. It can’t be a one off experiment to lose weight. In order to experience its benefits, make it a lifestyle change.
